Who I Am

Josh Fawkes Driving School is run by Josh Fawkes, a sole trader based in Newport (Gwent). I am the data controller for any personal information you share with me. If you have any questions about this notice or your information, you can call me on 07701 025948.

What Information I Collect

When you make an enquiry or book lessons, I may collect:

• Your name
• Your phone number and email address
• Your address or pick-up location
• Details about your driving experience, availability and the lessons or training you're interested in
• Your driving licence details, where needed to book or take lessons or a test
• Any other information you choose to include in your enquiry

How I Collect It

Enquiries made on this website are submitted through a form provided by Total Drive, a booking and management system for driving instructors. Total Drive stores and processes your information on my behalf. I may also collect information directly from you by phone, text, email or in person.

How I Use Your Information

• To respond to your enquiry
• To arrange, manage and deliver your lessons or training
• To contact you about your bookings, including changes or cancellations
• To take payments and keep business and financial records
• To meet my legal and professional obligations as a driving instructor

I will never sell your information, and I won't use it to send you marketing without your permission.

My Lawful Basis

Under UK data protection law, I rely on the following:

• Contract: to respond to enquiries and provide the lessons or training you book
• Legal obligation: to keep records required by law, such as financial records
• Legitimate interests: to run my business, for example keeping basic records of past pupils

Who I Share It With

I only share your information where necessary, with:

• Total Drive, which provides my enquiry and booking system
• The DVSA, where needed in connection with driving tests
• Paul & Nikki's Family Driving School, only if you ask about manual lessons and agree to be passed on
• My accountant or HMRC, for tax and accounting purposes

How Long I Keep It

I keep your information only for as long as I need it for the purposes above. Enquiries that don't lead to lessons are deleted when no longer needed. Financial records are kept for as long as the law requires.

Website Visits

To see how many people visit this website, I keep a simple count of visits. For each page viewed, this records the page, the date and time, whether you're on a phone or computer, and where the visit came from (for example a search engine). Your IP address is not stored. A scrambled code that changes every day is used to count unique visitors, and it can't be used to identify you. No cookies are used for this.

Cookies

This website does not use its own cookies for tracking or advertising. The Total Drive enquiry form is provided by Total Drive and may use cookies needed for it to work. See Total Drive's own privacy policy for details.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Ask for a copy of the information I hold about you
• Ask me to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
• Ask me to delete your information
• Object to or ask me to limit how I use your information
• Ask for your information to be transferred to another organisation
